Emily is a qualified vocal instructor and music educator with over 15 years of experience helping singers build confidence, clarity, and a reliable technical foundation. Her approach is rooted in the belief that every singer deserves a voice they can trust, a voice that feels as effortless as it sounds.

With a dual degree in Music (Vocal Performance) and Education, Emily’s career has been a constant exploration of the balance between artistic expression and vocal science. During her third year of university study, her dedication to the craft was recognised with an award for musical excellence, a milestone that underscored her commitment to high-level artistry. Her professional journey has since taken her from the classrooms of Sydney and Melbourne to the stages of the Sydney Opera House and the NRL Grand Final, where she provided sessional backing vocals for major city events.

A significant portion of Emily’s expertise was forged in the recording studio. Selected at age 15 as a young artist to represent her regional school in a professional recording, she has since spent years behind the microphone. Her studio credits include vocal session work for advertising, collaborating as a vocalist on singer-songwriter albums, and extensive ensemble recording, particularly throughout her university studies. This background gives her a unique edge in coaching singers on the precision, microphone technique, and vocal health required for the recording environment.

Beyond the studio, Emily is a passionate conductor and artistic director. Having served for 10 years as a Head of Music and musical director for productions such as Annie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Pirates of Penzance, she brings a directorial perspective to her coaching. She currently directs three choirs, continuing her commitment to building musical literacy through the Kodály Method.

What Emily values most are the breakthrough moments; those instances where a singer gains the technical understanding and control to realise what their voice is truly capable of. Helping students reach those milestones and carrying that momentum forward is the heart of her work at Signature Vocal Studio.
