About Emily
Emily is a vocal instructor and performer based in the Yarra Valley. She takes a functional approach to teaching voice with a focus on helping singers find balance and connection between their passages, discover their ‘mixed voice’, and aims to give her students tools that set them up for healthy voice use long-term to use in any style they choose.
After completing her Bachelor of Arts (double major music)/Bachelor of Teaching degree in 2014, Emily pursued training in the Kodály Method, which gave her extensive knowledge in how musicianship skills are developed through singing and she continues to remain current through ongoing training and professional development in vocal pedagogy.
Alongside teaching privately, she has also directed and vocal coached school and community musicals including Annie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Pirates of Penzance. She is currently the director of the Lilydale Teen Choir, and leads various other school and community vocal ensembles.
