About Emily
Emily is a qualified and experienced vocal instructor and music educator with over 10 years of teaching experience, helping singers build confidence, clarity, and reliable technique. She is committed to ongoing professional development, ensuring her teaching remains current, effective, and targeted to the real needs of today’s singers.
Emily specialises in a functional approach to vocal training, gently guiding singers to find balance and connection as they move from chest voice into head voice to strengthen and stabilise their mix, to sing with greater ease and freedom. Her teaching focuses on practical tools that support healthy, sustainable voice use, giving students skills they can rely on long-term, no matter the style they choose to sing.
Alongside one-on-one teaching, Emily is passionate about directing choirs and continues to work with singers in group settings through workshops and masterclasses. She has also enjoyed many years as a vocal coach and musical director for school and community productions, including Annie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Pirates of Penzance.
What Emily values most in her work are the breakthrough moments, when a singer gains understanding, confidence, and control, and realises what their voice is capable of. Helping students reach those moments and carrying them forward into their singing is at the heart of her teaching.
